In this session, we will discuss citizen engagement in data-driven innovation projects from multiple perspectives. In the context of EUHubs4Data, we will explore strategies to involve citizens in the decisional process around the use of data for the creation of new services. We will also touch on the experience of participatory projects in which a bottom-up approach becomes fundamental for collecting data and generating impactful outcomes. In the context of the MediaFutures project, we will focus on artistic data-based experiences that engage with the public, and the importance of art- AI collaboration for understanding the impacts of the use of data. Finally, we will delve into the interrelation between participation, data, and arts, and how to boost citizen involvement in the creation of data innovation projects and data spaces.
