GENERAL INFORMATION
The Digital Innovation Hub for AI and Cybersecurity (DAISEC) supports companies and the public sector in the application and development of technologies for artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.
THE REGION
Our focus areas for the application of AI and security technologies are the production, mobility and trade sectors, which are key sectors for the county of Lower Saxony in Germany. The Metropolitan Region Hannover-Braunschweig-Göttingen-Wolfsburg in Lower Saxony is a leading industry region for production and mobility, featuring a large skilled crafts sector as well. While production and mobility are driven by major enterprises such as Volkswagen, they receive crucial support from a large supply industry consisting of SMEs.
THE ECOSYSTEM
The most important partners in our focus areas have joined forces in our DAISEC to further drive digital innovations and help shape the digital transformation in Lower Saxony. The Hub combines internationally leading expertise in AI (L3S Research Center), cybersecurity (CISPA Helmholtz Center for Information Security), production (Production Technology Center Hannover PZH), mobility (Automotive Research Center Lower Saxony NFF), and skilled crafts (Heinz Piest Institute for Skilled Crafts HPI).
Infrastructures and services
DAISEC provides a wide range of support services in the areas of technology, training, networking, and finances. The Hub supports innovation processes within companies and the public sector by advising on current technologies, conducting maturity analyses, or providing the necessary infrastructures to test new developments without major investments. Furthermore, DAISEC offers a coordinated portfolio of measures that, taken as a whole, aim to build up professional, methodological, and practical expertise in selected digitalization topics and technologies. They range from thematic introductions and in-depth technical training to methodological and practical qualifications. We also offer a wide range of opportunities to connect companies and find the right partners for research and development. For example, we conduct active technology scouting to present the latest developments to interested companies. Furthermore, DAISEC organizes matchmaking events to build a regional and Europe-wide innovation network.
