06/04/2022

On March 15th BDVA, EuroCC, EUHubs4Data and Castiel joined forces in an online workshop to explore what are the cross-cutting issues in data protection and data preserving techniques, and the federation of services and data sets.

The aim of the workshop was to go to connect two inter-related ecosystems: HPC and Big Data/AI in order to streamline activities and align the initiatives towards common goals between the stakeholders.

The workshop started with an introduction form the two projects: EUH4D and EuroCC and was followed by presentations from the Orchestra project and three Big Data Value PPP H2020 projects, MOSAICrOWN, Safe-deed and Musketeer working on data sharing, data science, business innovation, machine learning focusing on improving security technologies.

Representatives from the projects showcased and shared their experience with a focus on Data protection and Data preserving techniques.

The last session of the workshop was dedicated to explain the lessons learnt from the Federated services and data sets presented by ITI, KIT and EGI Foundation. During this slot the partners have presented the i-Spaces Federation, the technical aspects of the Federation and how the federated assets (Skills) are organised within EUH4D.
