A Web- and user-generated content monitoring platform to extract actionable knowledge by listening for the public sentiment for a specified entity over time and across real-world events that trigger its generation and/or diffusion.

SERVICE DESCRIPTION

The Social Web Observatory (SWO) platform is a tool that monitors information diffusion across various sources that it can access, such as news sources on the Web and user-generated content (comments and posts) in the social media. SWO treats this information as actionable knowledge by listening for the public sentiment for a specified entity over time and across real-world events that trigger its generation and/or diffusion.

The free version of the platform allows users to search, explore, experiment, analyse and uncover new data-driven insights, data-driven ideas from the social web. Registered users are able to create dashboards, analyse and visualise the retrieved social web data. Customised/personalised versions of the platform can also be created and provided on-demand in order to address business- or user-defined needs.

CASE EXAMPLES

  • A company can measure:
  1. the impact of a communication campaign,
  2. the impact of news posts related to its brand(s),
  3. the satisfaction of its customers/employees,
  • A financial institution can use this platform in order to monitor the impact of a potential client (media mentions, customer comments, etc.) and make informed decisions on the services to offer.
